The central part of Shizuoka Prefecture was called Suruga,
until 100 years ago.
Tradition industry such as furniture, the fittings, Buddhist
family altar is prosperous in Shizuoka
City
And, we see sawmills and woodwork craftsmen, lacquer craftsmen
in everywhere in the town.
From 14th century,the craftsmen called Nakagawa carpenter, were
making bowls very much . Many craftsmen were gathered from each
place in the whole country so that 3rd Shogun Iemitsu might build
a Sengen shrine 17th century. Then, they are living now.
Sengen
shrine had studded with the gold and silver all . and it was
being built in the total lacquer painting. At present, lacquer
ware, sowed picture, woodwork, dyeing, and so on are popular
including the "SURUGA SENSUJI Bamboo ware" of the traditional
craftwork in Shizuoka. |
